To the One I Love…

It always seems that words escape me when I need them the most.

Then again, maybe I’ve never quite had the words to truly encompass my love for you.

But if we are merely stardust, and time is an unavailing measurement of life, then today I do not write an anniversary letter, but a eulogy for love passed, and a wish that I may be so fortunate to have you as a partner indefinitely.

Though it has been what seems like forever since you stole my heart, it is today that I pay homage to a year spent with you. Through struggles, and feats of strength, you have become one of the most beautiful things about my life. There is not one moment that passes by each day, where I am not grateful to have you as my partner.

You encourage the wildfire within me, embrace my inner gypsy, and push me to become a stronger woman, a better lover and a greater part of this life that was chosen for us. And to me, you are flawless, even when it hurts.

In the past year I have learned that you are a lover, a fighter, and an unstoppable cause. You are an unexpected friend to strangers, an intellect beyond all comprehension, destined for things too big for this world to understand. And even with all of the love, wisdom, strength and beauty that you exude, it is your humbleness that makes you the honourable man that you are today.

You always make me proud.

Today, more than ever, I want to tell you that I love you.
